Similarities . 2024
The shape of squares forming a net fascinates me.This drawing was inspired by a piece of discarded fishing net picked up on the Belgian coast. I wanted to make it in blue, thinking of the wonderful blue of the Greek sea. For this I used the blue Bic pen of Stappers-lawyers, an office specialized in Labor law.
During the roughly three months it took to draw, I thought about the society made up of individuals, all different and unique but with a lot of similarities.
I was thinking of the laws of a rule of law creating a safety net. We are taken care of in case of injustice, but it is also just a system with its holes and flaws in which we are also trapped.
